MEETING MINUTES
 November 13, 2007

Present:   Jeff Bruchey, Brent Greenup, Jeff Engel, Dan McMahon, Perry Jones, Larry Haines, Derrick Miller,  Angie Pickett, Teresa Angell

Jeff Bruchey called the meeting to order at 7:22 p.m. due to location change.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Minutes from October 12, 2007 were reviewed.  Derrek a motion to accept and Jeff Engel seconded the motion.  Unanimous approved.
  1. Financial Report – The balance in checking account is $2,156.67.  Check from Lions for $1,500 Bob Mitchell has.  Received $150.00 cash for Snack Shack soda sales from Dan McMahon.  Jeff Engel made a motion to approve financial report and Dan seconded the motion.  Unanimous approval.
  1. Open positions for President and Player Agent will be discussed in December meeting.
  1. Dugouts – Roofs are done.  Two banners for Roof Right need to be displayed on each field.  Doors will be put up on the weekend of November 17th and 18th.  Andy Hood will be doing electric for storage area and outlets for possible score board in the future.
  1. Basket Bingo – No confirmation on Legion Hall or date.  Possible dates are February 29th (Friday), March 1st(Saturday), or March 7th(Friday).  $150 for rental of bingo machine and delivery.  Taneytown Building cost $450 & $100 deposit for 200 people.  Pleasant Valley cost $525.  Suggestion for Eagles in Littlestown or Harney VFW.  Jeff/Jeff/Brent will check on prices.  Discussion of Bags available at Bingo, unanimous decision was no.  Another fundraiser – lottery?

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Sheila/Angie – do letters for sponsorship in December.  Banner sponsorship letter will go to board members by email and everyone gives out to businesses.
  1. Jeff Engel suggests moving the meetings from Friday night to another night.  Dan nominated second Monday of every month and Derrick seconded.  This will start in January.
  1. Division coordinators – prior to January has to have all equipment in one location to do inventory on what needs purchasing.  Discussion to look into the levels of balls for Pinto level. 
  1. Mid-Atlantic 15-yr. old team cost $575.  Check given to Brent for registration.  They will play an estimate of 30 games.
  1. Discussions of starting a 13/14 yr. old team but there are coaching issues.  This team will stay on hill. Also discussion of 12-yr.old team playing 10 to 12 games.  The cost is $550.  No decision made, but it needs to be made at next meeting prior to registration so kids can sign-up. 
  1. Flyers can be handed out at schools to announce baseball sign-ups (1600 combined).  Taneytown Elementary makes announcements and puts letters on table.  Runnymede will hand out to kids in classrooms.
  1. Uniforms – shirts/pants sizes.  Suggestion to order sooner with so many sizes for Pinto/T-Ball.
  1. Pitch/Hit/Run – Sheila wants 2 separate categories:

1.      Money making with one person handling.

2.      Athletics with one person handling.

Dan nominated and Jeff Engel seconded to have two people in charge of two separate categories.  Majority approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:05pm.  Brent nominated and Jeff Engel seconded. The next meeting will be held on Friday, December 14th, 2007 at 7:00pm at the Taneytown Senior Center.
