TANEYTOWN LIONS BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL MEETING MINUTES March 9, 2007
Present: Jeff Bruchey, Danny Lewelling, Sheila Rosas, Richard Rosas, Jim Brown, Brent Greenup, Dan McMahon, Tim Copenhaver, Chris Smith, Wayne Holland, Angie Pickett, Wendell White Jeff Bruchey called the meeting to order at 7:15.m. OLD BUSINESS
The minutes from February 9, 2007 were reviewed. Chris Smith made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Danny Lewelling seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
The financial report was reviewed. Danny Lewelling made a motion to approve. Chris Smith seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.

An update on the dug-outs was given by Jeff Bruchey
Sheila reported that the league made a profit of approximately $2,000 profit. $300 was raised to donate to a teacher in the Taneytown School District with cancer.
Tim gave the following update on registrations: Shetland 5 teams Pinto 5 teams Mustang 5 teams Bronco 4 teams. Registrations are now closed for these divisions. Softball 8U 2 10U 2 12U 2 16U 1 18U 1 Mid-MD 13/14 2 18U 2
Field Maintenance for tomorrow has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Looking for 4 or 5 guys to assist with the dug-outs. Robert Pickett has offered to make 2 new nail drags and also provide maintenance for all the tractors.
Chris Smith gave an update on the pitch hit & run.
NEW BUSINESS
Sheila reported that there will be 3 photographers available during the pictures on April 14, 2007. Packets have been made for each child containing pizza kit fundraiser, Pitch Hit & Run information, apparel order form and picture information. Sheila is requesting that the division coordinators pick up the packets for each of their teams no later than 3-17-07. We have 15 banner sponsors so far. A suggestion was made to offer pre-orders for apparel from now on.
The date for t he dance is 3-31-07 at the Taneytown Legion. Doors will open at 8 p.m. The dance will be held from 9-12:30. A 50/50 raffle will also be offered.
A suggestion was made to purchase two plaques for sponsors. Sheila made a motion to approve with a budge of $500. Dan McMahon seconded the motion.
Angie proposed to have a new fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in Westminster. The league will receive 10% for every order. This fundraiser is being offered Monday thru Thursday. This fundraiser was approved for May 17th or May 24th.
The following coaches need to be confirmed by the board of directors. Pinto John Greifzu Larry Haines Randy Bowers Mike Petry Chris Smith All coaches were confirmed. Softball 8U Matt Hall and Sheila Rosas 10U Freddie Lawson and Frank Collins 12U Andy Wilhide and Barbara Baker 16U Tim Roop 18U Brett Weaver All coaches were confirmed. The only issue is smoking on the softball field. Kelly will address this issue with the coach(s).
Kelly Cox received a call from Carroll County Public Schools regarding three girls who come from disadvantaged families wishing to play softball. Could the league give them a scholarship to play? Unanimous approval. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Taneytown Senior Center.
